2018 JUNIOR OLYMPIC RECAP

9 NEW club records:Vadim Burunov 200 BK, 400IM, Charles Wingold 50,100 & 200 Breaststroke and 4 relay swims.
Vadim achieved two A times and one AA time.
Charles Wingold swam 2 A times, 2 AA times and one AAA times, placed 3rd in the 50 breaststroke and was selected to the Florida Gold Coast  All Star Swim Team. Coaches selected Charles as the Hammerhead Swimmer of the Meet, Congratulations Charles.

HAMMERHEAD AQUATICS INTRASQUAD MEET 2018

Saturday, April 28, 2018

Warm up 7:30 am – Meet Starts 8:30 am

This will be a fun day with 25,’s and 50’s for all ages, from the young ones to Masters!

  • There will be a team photo after the meet, and a cookout!
  • Parents must participate and bring an item for the cookout!
  • Team will supply hamburgers and hot dogs!
  • Awards will be given!

Cost $5.00 flat fee.

Entry deadline: Tuesday April 16, 2018 7pm

2018 “B” Champ Results

We had eight swimmers represent the team: Taylor Dedon, Andres Gill, Elliott Green, Callie Jordan Cole Jordan, Sabrina Stock, Elliott White, Oscar White

A big Hammerhead shout out and congratulations on all your outstanding swims this past weekend at the “B” Champs.

Taylor Dedon, Taylor had 6 swims where she had 6 best times, with a total of 9.367 seconds of overall improvement

Andres Gill, Andres had 6 swims and improved 36.54 seconds, with 4 top 20th place finishes and a 14 place finish in the 50 Butterfly

Elliott Green, Elliott had 6 swims, and improved 33.6 seconds, with a top 15 place in the 100 Backstroke

Callie Jordan, Callie had 6 swims, with 3 top five finishes: 50 Free 4th & JO Cut 26; 100 Free, 4th and 50 Backstroke finishing 2nd making the JO cut ,31.43. 8.25 improvement in her times

Cole Jordan, Cole had 5 swims, with 3 top 5 finishes: 100 Back stroke, 5 place, 50 Backstroke, 2 place and JO cut 33.73 and 3rd in the 50 Breaststroke 37.67, another JO cut with 21.59 seconds of improvement.

Sabrina Stock, Sabrina competed in 6 events with her best event in the 100 IM where she had a best time and a top 20 place finish.

Elliot White, competed in 3 events in which he improved a total of 8.2 seconds and a top 20th place finish in the 100 IM, 19th place, with a time of 1:49.2

Oscar White, competed in 6 events, with one top ten performance, 100 Breast stroke 1;35.35 for 7th Place, and 3 top 15 place finishes, with a total time of improvement of 1.14 seconds.

Callie Jordan and Cole Jordan join our Junior Olympic individual qualifiers: Vadim Burunov, Charles Wingold and Oscar White as a relay swimmer preparing for the Junior Olympic meet in two weeks, March 16, 17, 18 in Coral Springs

I believe this is the most swimmers we have had qualifying for JO’s. Congratulations Junior Olympians

2017 SENIOR CHAMPS WRAP UP

What a great conclusion to another record setting year. Four individual swimmers (Abigail Bush, Kasey Jordan, Matthew Petreski, Tommy Lorenz) and three relay swimmers ( Amelia Bush, Callie Jordan and Amber Blake) represented Hammerhead Aquatics at the 2017 FGC Senior Championships.

A record number of qualified swimmers, in a record number of events. Ourswims at this meet were highlighted by our three finalists, Abigail in 100 and 200 breaststroke, Kasey  in the 100 freestyle and Matthew in his 4 events. We entered 5 relay events, all swimmers had best time splits, all relays set club records and our 800 free relay placed 7th. For the first time, we scored 33 team points and placed 33rd in the team rankings.

Everyone should be very proud. Just think, 3 years ago at our first team swim meet almost everyone got disqualified in most

events, we now are swimming in our Championship events and placing in the top twenty in most of our indivdual events.

CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL OUR CHAMPIONSHIP SWIMMERS!!!

Matthew Petreski will represent Hammerhead Aquatics at the next Championship level meet in College Station Texas at Texas A&M University where he has qualified in four events. We wish Matthew great swimming and will look forward to his report after our break.

Remember we are now on our end of the year break and will come together again on Monday, August 7, 7:30 – 9:30AM refreshed and ready to begin a new year. Take care this week stay active, continue with your sit ups and push ups, walk, run, hike and STAY SAFE AND HEALTHY.

2017 Junior Olympics

2017 JUNIOR OLYMPIC WRAP UP

A great end for our age group swimmers, as four swimmers, Vadim Burunov, Charles Wingold, Oscan White  and Callie Jordan combined to qualify for 13 events at the 2017 FGC Junior Olympic swim meet.  This is our largest number of Junior Olympic qualifiers in a record number of events.   Congratulations!!!

Highlighting our successes, Vadim had 6 top 20 finishes.  In the 400 freestyle, Oscar placed 15th.  Callie Jordan swam a 50 freestyle time that qualified her for the 2017 FGC Senior Championship.

Excellent swimming to all these up and coming swimmers.

Area 2 Championships

15 swimmers represented our program in the Area 2 Championships held in Sunrise, Florida

These 15 Hammerhead swimmers swam 8 first place finishes,  25 top ten finishes and 12 new Hammerhead Aquatics Club records.

In addition to the terrific place finishes, more importantly, we improved our overall times by 236.37 seconds. Meet results here.

Junior Olympic Team:  We went into the meet with: (3) swimmers; Vadium Burunov, Oscar White and Charles Wingold qualified for their Junior Olympic events and after this weekend, we are pleased to announce that Callie Jordan has now qualified and  joined our Junior Olympic team.

Senior Championship Team:  Abigail  Bush, Kasey Jordan, Tommy Lorenz, Kenaz Sweeting and Matthew Petreski already made their individual Senior Qualifying times and after this weekend  5 additional Senior event times were met. Callie Jordan also joins the Senior Team by making her 50 free qualifying time. Amelia Bush and Amber Blake will swim relays in this championship event.

Also a special shout out to Matthew Petreski who will represent Hammerheads Aquatics in the USA Southern Zone Senior Swimming Championships, August 1-5 @ Texas A&M

International Trip for Senior Swimmers

Hammerhead Aquatics senior swimmers travel to Nassau for the Bahamas Swimming Federation Last Chance Meet 2017 – 3/10/2017 to 3/11/2017. This was our first international trip. Everyone had great swims, met international swimmers and had a great weekend. Yes, we rode in a stretch limo for the weekend, thanks to Mr Sweeting.
